- Abstract (EN)
- We present a simulation and optimisation framework for stochastic resource-constrained project scheduling problems (RCPSP). The stochastic features are the job durations modelled by continuous random variables (without any time discretisation). The fluctuations are simulated by testing a sufficiently large number of realisations of an instance. The current workflow is evaluated using twelve RCPSP instances with up to 30 jobs. The aim is to gain insights into the connection between input probability distribution and both the objective function as well as heuristics. The current approach reveals that the underlying distributions used for generating the job durations influence the performance of the heuristics compared to the optimal makespan.
