- Abstract (EN)
- This paper presents a methodology for the design and execution of simulation experiments for the investigation of production and logistics systems, in which structural variants of models are (partially) automatically generated by the application of component-based software synthesis, experimentally investigated with the help of discrete-event simulation and evaluated with regard to target dimensions of production and logistics planning. The methodology has been developed for simulation experiments on topology-oriented models and extends the state of the art in that the structural variation can be consciously considered and varied as an influence factor in the design and execution of simulation experiments. The benefit of this work lies in its potential for improving simulation results, as more model structures can be investigated and simulatively evaluated than in the manual modelling of structural variants. Limitations of the current state of research and an outlook for future research are also provided for the reader.
