- Abstract (EN)
- This paper presents a service-oriented architecture for the user-friendly, accessible and platform-independent provision of simulation services for the usage in ongoing operations. By decoupling clients from the direct interaction with the simulation software, the proposed concept enables users and external systems without in-depth simulation expertise or experience with specific tools, to define and execute simulation experiments with existing models. A prototype implementation demonstrates how services can be triggered using a graphical user interface as client. Based on standardized interfaces, the concept allows the integration with external systems such as MES, APS, ERP or even LLMs enabling automated and eventdriven simulation runs. A neutral information model, based on the Asset Administration Shell, ensures interoperability across all systems and tools. While the service orchestration requires some sort of domain knowledge when defining experiments, evaluation results show the practicability of the concept.
