- Abstract (EN)
- Discrete-event simulation is frequently used for designing autonomous mobile robot fleets in industrial logistics systems. Especially, when simulating largescale systems with big fleets, the complexity and effort for modelling increases strongly. The modelling lead-time and simulation runtime are critical factors in system design. In this context, this work explores the eligibility of VDA5050, LIF and Multi-Core-Simulation to reduce modelling lead-time and simulation run-time. The study uses an industrial case-study in a real-world system. Based on the case-study, this work illustrates the opportunities and limitations of VDA5050 and LIF in modelling and quantifies the reduction in runtime when using Multi-Core-Simulation.
