- Abstract (EN)
- Increasing product variants and shorter life cycles challenge traditional line production concepts, prompting a shift towards flexible, workshop-oriented modular production systems. These systems feature adaptable workstations connected by automated guided vehicles, enhancing production flexibility. Modular systems are complex, with design dimensions like task distribution significantly impacting performance. Optimizing task allocation is crucial. Traditional design methods often overlook solution robustness amid changing conditions. While simulation-based robustness studies, based on data farming, have been applied to classical systems, modular systems require adapted methods. This paper introduces techniques for generating experimental designs with varied task distributions in modular production, evaluating their impact on robustness. An academic example of modular vehicle production illustrates the approach.
