- Abstract (EN)
- Automated guided vehicles (AGV) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) have become an important tool for automatization. They are frequently used for the transportation of goods in factories and are also applied in a wide range of other applications. Despite advancements in modern battery technologies, the limited capacity of the mobile power source and resulting charging operations can impact the performance of the overall transport system. This aspect is however neglected in most research dealing with the scheduling of such systems. In this simulation study an auction-based approach combining the multi-robot task allocation (MRTA) problem with the scheduling of charging operations is applied to an industrial use case.
