Abstract (DE)

Es handelt sich um eine klinische doppelverblendete randomisierte kontrollierte multizentrische Studie, die eine neue Formula einer Octenidine-haltige Mundspüllösung gegen Biofilmansammlung, Reduktion von Bakterienzahl, Effekt auf Gingivitis und Zahnverfärbungen, untersucht. Die Spüllösung konnte statistisch signifikant und klinisch relevant die Biofilmansammlung hemmen und die Bakterienzahl nach einmaliger Spülung reduzieren im Vergleich zu Placebo. Es gab keinen signifikanten Unterschied zwischen Test-Gruppe und Placebo-Gruppe, was Gingivitis angeht. Die Testgruppe hat signifikant mehr Zahnverfärbungen verursacht.

Abstract (EN)

This is a clinical double-blinded randomised controlled multicentre study investigating a new formulation of a mouth rinse containing octenidine against biofilm accumulation, reduction of bacterial count, effect on gingivitis and tooth discolouration. The rinse had a statistically significant and clinically relevant effect in inhibiting biofilm accumulation and reducing bacterial counts after a single rinse compared to placebo. There was no significant difference between the test group and the placebo group in terms of gingivitis. The test group caused significantly more tooth discolouration.
